This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of teacher competence, compensation and work environment on teacher performance at UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Parepare.
This study approach used survey study conducted at the UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Parepare from July to August 2020. The study population was all 55 teachers at the UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Parepare. The sample selection in this study was carried out using a saturated sampling technique so that the sample used in this study was as many as 55 teachers.
The results show that (1) there is a positive and significant effect of teacher competence toward teacher performance partially at UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Parepare (2) there is a positive and significant effect of compensation toward teacher performance partially at UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Parepare (3) there is no partial positive and significant effect of the work environment toward teacher performance at UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Parepare (4) there is a simultaneous effect toward teacher competence, compensation, and work environment on teacher performance at UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Parepare (5) Teacher competency is the most dominant variabel affects teacher performance at UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Parepare. Based on the research results, the coefficient of determination (R2) was 0.865 or (86.5%). This shows that 86.5% of teacher performance is affected by teacher competence, compensation and work environment, while 13.5% is affected by other variables not included in this study.
