The Effect of Competence and Professionalism on Performance through the Employee's Work Spirit at the Regional Secretariat of Pangkajene and Kepulauan Regency (supervised by Muhammad Idris and Muhammad Hidayat) The study aims to determine and analyze: 1) direct influence of competence on employee morale at the Regional Secretariat of Pangkajene and Islands Regencies, 2) direct influence of professionalism on employee morale at the Regional Secretariat of Pangkajene and Islands Regencies, 3) direct influence of morale on employee performance, 4) direct influence of competence on employee performance at the Regional Secretariat of Pangkajene and Islands Regencies, 5)) direct influence of professionalism on employee performance at the Regional Secretariat of Pangkajene and Islands Regencies, 6) indirect influence of competence on employee performance through employee morale at the Regional Secretariat of Pangkajene and Islands Regencies, 7) the indirect effect of professionalism on employee performance through employee morale at the Regional Secretariat of Pangkajene and Islands Regencies. This research design uses survey research. Location of the study was the Regional Secretariat of the Pangkajene Regency and the Islands. The study was conducted in October to November 2019. The population in this study included all employees of the Regional Secretariat of Pangkajene and Kepulauan Regency, amounting to 103 people. Sampling of this study was carried out using a simple random sampling technique, which is to determine a random sample of 52 employees of the Regional Secretariat of Pangkajene and Kepulauan Regency. The data analysis technique used is path analysis. The results showed that: 1) there is a positive and significant direct influence of competence on employee morale at the Regional Secretariat of Pangkajene and Islands Regencies, 2) there is a positive and significant direct effect of professionalism on employee morale at the Regional Secretariat of Pangkajene and Islands Regencies, 3) there is a positive influence and directly significant morale on employee performance at the Regional Secretariat of Pangkajene and Islands Regencies, 4) there is a positive and significant direct influence of competence on employee performance at the Regional Secretariat of Pangkajene and Islands Regencies, 5) there is a positive and significant direct effect of professionalism on performance employees at the Regional Secretariat of Pangkajene and Islands Regencies, 6) there is a positive and indirect effect of competence and professionalism on performance through employee morale at the Regional Secretariat of Pan Regency. gkajene and Islands, 7) there is a positive and indirect effect of professionalism on employee performance through employee morale at the Regional Secretariat of Pangkajene and Islands Regencies. en_US
