dc.description.abstract Muthmainnah. 2021. The Effect of Leadership and Competence toward Job Satisfaction of State Civil Servants through Discipline at the Office of the Head of the Panakkukang Sub-District, Makassar City, supervised by Sylvia Sjarlis and Andi Djalante. This study aims to determine and analyze the effectof leadership and competence to wardjob satisfaction of state civil servants through discipline at the Panakkukang Sub-District Office, Makassar City. This study approach used quantitative study conducted at the Panakkukang SubDistrict Office, Makassar City in January 2021. The study population was all employees of the Panakkukang Sub-district Office Makassar City, totaling 252 people. The sample selection in this study was carried out using purposive sampling method, namely sampling with certain criteria. Where the criteria for respondents determined in this study are respondents who are currently working at the Head Office of the Panakkukang Sub-districtin Makassar City who have ASN status. Because this study focuses on leadership and competence, so the sample in this study selects employees who have superiors and only ASN status, so the sample in this study is 90 people. The resultsof this study indicate that (1) there is an effect of leadership on job satisfaction (2) there is an effect of competence on job satisfaction (3) there is an effect of leadership on discipline (4) there is an effect of competence on discipline (5) there is an effect of discipline on job satisfaction (6) there is a leadership effect on job satisfaction through discipline (7) there is an effect of competence on job satisfaction through discipline. en_US
